EFT for Sandy Hook – Newtown CT Victims

It is with so much sadness that I am writing this post.

As the mother of a beautiful 12 year old, I cannot even imagine what the families and community of the children and teachers of Sandy Hook are going through right now. I am so sorry, and just want to extend my condolences to all who are touched by this unspeakable drama and tragedy.

I have received several requests from EFTers who just want to help, and I’d like to share a few thoughts on how we can do this tactfully and effectively.

First of all, in a situation like this, it is very hard to come from a place of healing.

Even though EFT does magic, healing and “letting go” is not the call of the minute. Just listen and acknowledge.

The families are in a state of shock, and need acknowledgment. Acknowledgment comes before healing.

We can help in a deeply acknowledging way with EFT. If they are willing to tap with you, just follow the basic recipe, maybe the short version, just making acknowledging statements:

Overwhelmed with grief

I don’t understand

I can’t believe this… may be good statements to begin with.

Make sure that you are not opening a person up to feelings that they may not be able to handle, and if you are not a licensed therapist, make sure that you work within your scope of practice and refer as needed.

What I found when helping victims of tragedy was, that it can be very helpful to not focus on the feelings, as there are so many, and the person might not be open to even consider letting go. It is way to early.

Instead, I would chase the pain with them: We would focus on the physical body, and notice the tension, pain, stress that is stored there.

Then we would simply start to tap on these symptoms:

“Even though I have so much tension in my chest, I love and accept myself gently and with much compassion.

Even though I feel so much grief in my throat, I allow myself to say and feel what is right for me right now.

Even though I have such pain in my shoulders, I gently love and accept myself.

TH: I am overwhelmed

IE: I am so tense

OE: I have this tension in my shoulders

UE: I have this grief in my throat

UN: There is so much tension in my stomach

UL: There is so much tension in my chest

CB: I feel so tense and tight all over

UA: And I gently acknowledge and accept these feelings and symptoms

TH: I allow myself to feel what is right for me right now, and I choose to trust my own guidance.


Just be gentle. It may even be better to just stay with one symptom at a time. Anything that is acknowledging, kind and gentle will be helpful.

It is important to keep our own agenda out of the situation. When working with grief, don’t expect the person to change or feel better.

Gary Craig said so correctly, that we work with the excess grief, we take the edge off, in a way that works for the individual victim.

We can’t “fix” anything, make it “better”, help heal at that moment.

We must have the courage to just stand by with an open heart, acknowledge and gently tap with the people in a way that feels appropriate for them.

This is a very tough time for all of us right now.

My heart goes out to everybody involved, and the many thousand parents all over the world who are loosing their children to war, hunger and illness right now. We must make a change.

And we are.

Sometimes, energies seem to be so strong that they are visible everywhere around us.

It seems like they are right in our face, people talk about it on the streets, the TV is full of them, and even our immediate environment seems to radiate them in ways that that are new.

The energies that I am observing as of late are great anger and resentment, paired with the feeling :

“I never get to have what I want.”


This feeling that we can never be good enough to ensure that we get what we need.

This feeling that people will take advantage of us and unless we have our guard up and protest loudly, something tough will happen.

Have you observed this as well?

The feeling that goes along with the belief “I never get to have what I want” are resentment, even rage, and a deep, never healing sense of betrayal.

Often they come from very far back, from childhood when we were not understood or others, mabe siblings were preferred over us.

In my experience, the first step to healing this is not tapping on the pain, it is tapping on acknowledging that it happened.

Acknowledgment is so important these days. Yes, we can release lots of emotions and beliefs with EFT, but unless we can truly hold space without judgment that injustice happened and it was not right, it will be very difficult for us to transform our life and move away from the pain and anger we feel.

Tapping Script



Please go to for a short video that will demonstrate how to do the tapping.

The first feeling that we want to tap on is a feeling of resentment, this overall anger that stems from a feeling of betrayal. Very often, we can feel this in our stomach, in the chest or gut.

Just check in with yourself, notice any tension in your body.

Give the tension an intensity rating on a scale of 0-10 (gone-extreme)

Then start tapping with me:

KP: Even though I am so angry that I don’t get to have what I want, I ompletely love and accept myself.


KP: Even though I feel so left out and hurt right now, they never see what I want and need, I allow myself the peace and strength that I need


KP: Even though I am so resentful right now, I love and accept myself anyway and without judgment.

TH: I am angry


OE: SO angry!!!

UE: It is frustrating

UL: It is SO frustrating

CB: I never get what I want

UA: And nobody seems to care about how I feel

TH: It is SO frustrating to feel this way, and nobody helps me and gives me what I want


Take a breath….

You can relax now

You are safe and you are being heard…


TH: What if I could let go of this resentment?

IE: What if I didn’t have to feel this way?

OE: What if I didn’t have to suffer so much

UE: ANd if there was another way to make sure that I get what I want

UN: I don’t like to be like this

UL: I don’t like that they make me feel this way

CB: It is frustrating and hurtful to feel this way

UA: And it’s not even effective, otherwise I would now have what I want

TH: I am open to the feeling that things can shift soon, in a way that works better for me


Take another breath…

Do you notice a shift?

Feeling lighter, more at ease, more positive?

What ever you feel, just notice it without judgment


Then let’s do a last round:


TH: I am ready to release this frustration

IE: It is not serving me and it is keeping me stuck

OE: I am ready to feel different soon

UE: And to be open to receiving from unexpected places

UN: It is hard for me to trust that I will get what I want

UL: But I am willing to be open to it now

CB: I am beginning to allow myself to shift

UA: In a positive way that truly works for me

TH: And even though it is true that I often didn’t get what I wanted, I am open to a shift that truly works for me.


Relax and breathe.

Just sit with the feelings that are coming up.

It may well be that you discover new feelings now.

Maybe sadness, grief, helplessness is coming up.

We will do more tapping on this next time.

Do you struggle with setting priorities in your life?

Do you have a problem making a decision on which next step in your business is the right one for you?

There is a reason why you feel torn, and getting to the underlying message is important.

You will be able to integrate it easily, one you see how it fits into who you truly are.


Let’s tap on speeding up this process:


KP: Even though I feel torn, I have two goals and callings and they don’t seem to match, I completely love and accept myself.

KP: Even though I have this conflict about which direction to go in – I would like to prioritize both at once – I choe to see clearly and easily what connects them both and the power and purpose that they are giving for my future.


KP Even though I feel torn and overwhelmed with these two missions, I choose to take a step back and realize that they are not conflicting but giving new and important meaning to my higher purpose, in a way that I am beginning to see now.


TH: It is such a conflict

IE: It really is!

OE: Both goals seem to be important

UE: It is impossible for me to integrate them both at once

UN: I can’t chose, I wouldn’t do justice to either one of them

UL: I can’t decide which direction I should take

CB: It is such a conflict – I really hate this feeling

UA: I wish that I knew what my next steps truly need to be.

TH: But I honor myself and this conflict I have, and I choose to be open to a surprising solution now.


Take a breath and notice how you feel.


Let’s tap again:


TH: What if there was a connecting piece between my two missions in life?

IE: What if there was something unique and truly meaningful for me?

OE: What if I only had this problem because I am overlooking the deeper meaning of my life

UE: And once I release the belief that I have a problem, I can easily see my next, integrated, powerful steps forward?

UN: I am beginning to open up to the idea that it might be easier than I thought

UL: I am beginning to see the bigger picture of these two conflicting messages

CB: I am beginning to embrace that my life and my mission is truly more unique than I thought

UA: And that once I have chosen to  integrate my conflict in a creative way, I will allow myself to define my mission and message more powerfully than ever before

TH: It is important to me to be authentic and congruent, and I am now integrating all of the thoughts and feelings that co-create who I truly am.


Take another breath. Do you notice a shift around your thoughts and feelings? Do you see how these seemilngly conflicting thoughts are coming together as one?

And now let’s finish with a last round:


TH: I am beginning to see how the questions I have with one of my missions are being answered in the other one

IE: I am beginning to see and embrace the deeper level of liviing that this allows me to enjoy

OE: I am now ready and comfortable integrating all of me, even if it feels like a conflict in the beginning

UE: And to enjoy the reality that my true message and mission is unique and just mine

UN: I am now seeing that I can easily embrace my true calling

UL: And find an effective and authentic way to monitize my passion.

CB: I deeply enjoy the Balance I am creating with my conflict

UA: And I am now grateful that I can see my life and my future in more than one way

TH: it is powerful and amazing to be able to live my life so fully, integrating my former conflict more powerfully than I ever thought possible. Thank you for this new meaning and message in my life.


Take another deep breath.

Can you now feel the shift? Can you see how you can actually integrate the conflict you had?

So often, when we try too hard to focus on one thing, and struggle with finding the right strategies and solutions, we ignore that the answers might be easily visible when we find the deeper meaning in what seemed to be a conflict in the past.

Have an open mind, keep journaling your thoughts, “bright shiny objects” and conflicts.

Take a deeper look at them, and they will unveil their mystery and deeper truth.

Free Tapping Script: Tapping for Success Manifestation

When I began my journey to lose weight 5 months ago, I know that I needed both:

The right mindset and the right system.

For the system, I decided to go with weight watchers, as it is a proven system that has been around for decades and has helped thousands of people reach their goal weight while being very flexible in what I can eat. Since I travel a lot for business, and eat in restaurants and at airports, this was a good match for me.

The next step was to commit myself to doing whatever it takes to reach my goal of losing 40 pounds.

However, as was to be expected, I struggled with daunting thoughts that were challenging me.

I had already taken care of the cravings, so this was not a problem.

But the thoughts of how big this goal was, and how my life would change as a consequence, were very real.

So I decided to begin to manifest my future weight loss .

And today, I am proud to say that I am almost there, going from a size 14/16 to a size 4/6.

But I didn’t just want to affirm for myself that I already have what I want.

The idea of saying “I am at my goal weight and have lost 40 pounds with ease and grace”, or something of that nature, wasn’t strong enough for me.

Instead, I developed a technique that I call

“Tapping from the future back”.

Here is a sample of how this would work.

Connect with the obstacle or fear that you feel right now, and that you would like to overcome.

Then just begin to tap and read out loud, switching to the next tapping point according to what feels right for you.

These words can be extremely powerful – enjoy!


There was a time in my life when I didn’t know yet

That the fear that I was facing

Of the huge task that I was taking on

Was going to be the last obstacle I had to overcome

Before I reached my goal forever

With so much more ease and comfort

Than I could have ever known

At the time that I was scared.


I remember well,

When I still believed that it was going to be hard and scary 

to move forward with my life and goal

And that I would be suffering so much

While never truly being safe with my accomplishments.


And now looking back,

After so many years of knowing

That the fears back then were truly just that

And I very quickly, much sooner than I ever thought possible

Would be able to completely change and move forward

In the most powerful way that I could have never been able to know I was capable of at the time.


Today looking back,

I am so grateful for the unwavering faith in my abilities that I displayed

Even though I didn’t know that I would be able to reach my goal with so much joy and ease.


Today I am so grateful for how comfortable it has been.

I am grateful that I know now that I reached my goal for good.

I am delighted and proud of myself that I know now,

Years later

That I was indeed right on my path

Clearly connected

Joyfully shifting

With the flow

In an amazing and wonderful way that was given to me before birth.


Today I know what huge and profound impact 

The decision to reach my goal

No matter what it takes

Would have made for my future

In more ways than I could have ever imagined

Even in my wildest dreams.


Today I am grateful.

Because today I know for years already

That I did it

I truly did.

I mastered it

I conquered my goal

I did.

I was successful.

And much easier than I ever thought it would be.

I am grateful.

My life changed back then.

And I did it.


All changed.

I have, indeed, what it takes to be a success.

It that time of year again! Tax season is here, just a few more weeks and the deadline is soon approaching.

Why it is so hard to get taxes filed on time? Well, there will be lots of answers for this.

But if filing taxes is a problem for you, I’d like to offer you a tapping script, that might make it easier for you to get started and actually finish.


Here we go:


KP: Even though I an dragging my feet, and tax season is here, I accept myself and my struggle without judgment

KP: Even though it is so hard for me to get this finished right now, I love and accept myself and choose to be kind and gentle.

KP: Even though I am frustrated that it has come this far – again! – I choose to forgive myself and claim focus and a positive, friendly attitude instead.

TH: It is frustrating!
IE: It can be SO hard!

OE: I don’t like this at all!

UE: Why can’t I just get it done?

UN: Tax season is not exactly a surprise

UL: It comes every year, and I have so much time to prepare for it

CB: Bt once again I am procrastinating

UA: And I hate how difficult I am making this for myself

TH: Tax season is here, and once again I am dragging my feet…


Take a breath…

TH: I acknowledge that I am struggling with this without any judgment

IE: It is indeed very hard for me, and I may not even know, why

OE: Not everybody gets excited about taxes

UE: And I don’t seem to be a person who just intuitively gets how it should be done

UN: MAybe there is some fear in this

UL: Maybe there is some resentment to my financial situation

CB: Maybe there is something I should know, or some help I should get

UA: Or I should ask for help, but I just don’t know how

TH: But just for now I acknowledge that it is hard, and I feel frustrated, scared and trapped with this.

Take a deep breath again. How do you feel?

Let’s do another round, OK?

TH: What if I could allow myself to just take it easy?

IE: What if I released my fear of the big picture and just took it one step at a time?

OE: What if I allowed myself to just focus on what I do know how to do

UE: And to simply finish what is already clear to me, as quickly and focussed as I can?

UN: What if I was calm and confident while I do this in babysteps

UL: And as I go along, the chaos lifts its veil and darkness

CB: What if I began to see that each transaction has a meaning and purpose

UA: And that I do indeed know how to do this, when I take the time and allow for the focus I need

TH: I am beginning to see the bigger picture, and my fear and resentment is lifting now.

Another deep breath… do you begin to feel the shift?

Let’s do one last round…

TH: I am grateful for the new attitude I have just found

IE: I am fascinated how quickly things get untangled when I take one step at a time

OE: I am already beginning to release the fear of doing my taxes

UE: I am already beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel

UN: This is getting easier and easier, the more baby steps I undertake

UL: This is getting easier by the minute, and my focus increases steadily

CB: I am grateful that I have finally taken this on so well

UA: And I can clearly see that I will get it finished just fine and in time

TH: And even though it has been so hard just a short time ago, I am grateful that I now see how easy and comfortable it can be, when I take it one step at a time.
