What If They Say “No”?

Yes, no matter how good you are, no matter how important and relevant your services are, how passionate you feel about the work that you do and the difference that it makes in people’s lives, most people will still say “No, thank you” to working with you.

It’s not just some people, it is MOST people.

I know how hurtful and frustrating this can be, to hear your ideal clients say “No, thank you, not right now.” to the opportunity to work with you.

“If only they knew what I can do for them” is one of the biggest frustrations that many coaches experience as they reach out to get more clients.

They feel so passionate about their work and helping others, that it is almost personal when a potential client says “No, Thank You.”

And they often begin to struggle with those old abandonment and rejection issues that can get triggered when we don’t feel welcomed.

They feel lonely, silly, at a loss of words.

And the more they hear the dreaded “No, Thank You.” the more they take it to heart, take it personal.

What most people forget to see is, that they themselves say “No, Thank You” to most offers that people make to them.

Do you buy everything somebody offers?

Do you reach for the phone as soon as a commercial shows up on TV?

Do you get excited about investing lots of money as soon as a person, technique or offer seems enticing?

Of course not!

You also make choices. You decide every day wether something is for you or not.

Is this the right time, the right price, the right package for you? These are very important considerations for you as well.

Understand why they say “No”

And of course, most of these choices are not just about the offers that you are presented with.

Instead you take your whole life into account:

You reflect if it is the right time to make the purchase.

Does this offer have value for you right now?

Is the problem it solves a priority for you right now, or just something nice to have?

Are you personally invested into getting results, or does the offer come at the wrong time?

Is it just another “bright, shiny object”, or truly your next logical step?

There are so many factors that might impact a decision to work with you.

The most important one is to show up at the right time.

Show up in your client’s life at the time they truly need you.

Show up with an offer that is insightful and shows that you truly understand the situation.

Show up repeatedly, understanding that your clients are not waiting for you to come.

Develop a relationship

Most people need to be approached 9-12 times before they make a decision, before they open your email, before they understand that help is available.

You have to be there for them as they are going through that process.

Let them know you care.

Let them know you understand.

Let them know you have their back, and don’t hard sell them into working with you.

Represent your vision and your values every step along the way.

There are many different ways that you can show up in somebody’s life.

The 1:1 personal connection is always the best way to help them get to know like and trust you.

Is working with this client important enough to you to invest the time and energy to stay in contact with this client?

If so, then your chances to be there at the right time, the time when your client is ready to make a move on the problem you can help with, will be very high.

If you truly believe that you have a great value to offer to a client, don’t give up on him or her just because they don’t need you at the time you first connect.

Instead, build a great relationship that helps them to get to know, like and trust you, connect with them in different ways over the course of time, and build your connection and reputation around your brand and your values.

And most importantly: Never believe that people say “No” to you personally.

Just as you have the right to say “No” to most offers you receive, either because the timing, product or price point aren’t a good fit for you right now, so can and will your potential clients in the beginning.

If you take people’s saying “No” to your offer personally, please consider working with a trained EFT practitioner and tap those triggers away!

Show up in people's lives

How To Get Clients: Show Up In Their Lives!

A common mistake that many new business owners make is, that they focus most of their energy on how they look in public:

They want a beautiful blog, a great facebook page, nice business cards, and a perfect elevator speech.

They are unsure what they do and how to talk about what they do, and get hung up on this when they consider talking to potential clients.

But the truth is, that there is a very easy way to get clients:

Show up in their lives and ask them how they are doing.

I really mean this:

The most common mistake that coaches and healers make who are new to building a business is, that they hide behind online tools, blogs and social media.

They would do so much better if they simply left the house and talked to everybody they meet about their new passion.

Imagine you had a back problem and are taking the bus to work.

Next to you sits a chiropractor, who notices that you are hurting and offers expert advise and his services.

If it feels right, and you trust that he is an expert, you would sign up with him, wouldn’t you?

How about the person is a massage therapist instead?

If you trust that she has a solution, you would sign up with her as as well, right?

It doesn’t matter much if the person offering support was an EFT practitioner, a yoga instructor, a therapist or a personal trainer:

If you feel good about her, feel that she is an expert and has a solution to your problem, you would sign up.

Why?

Because the “know, like and trust-factor” gets established, and you feel that the person shows up in your life for a reason.

Chances are, you would even consider ways to get help that you never thought about before, if only you feel that the expert next to you knows what she is talking about.

Most of your clients feel the same way:

When they meet you in person, when they get a chance to talk with you privately, when they know that you are real and kind and happy to help with your expertise, they will not compare you to others, they will simply sign up with you.

In the beginning, don’t spend too much time on trying to make new connections, instead get those business cards out that you already have, reconnect with friends and family, let everybody know that you are available to help where help is wanted and needed, and you will be surprised how quickly your practice fills up!

Trust that people need you, and be available to them in a way that works for them.

When you are available to your clients, your clients will get interested in working with you, too.

I am certain that there is lots of resistance coming up for you as we speak.

What are your thoughts on this?

This fear that comes from a consistent inner voice, warning you that you might fail?
Having this fear is so frustrating.

It stops us from even trying, from even giving it your best shot.

However, since we are usually very resourceful in finding excuses, we believe that we will have a much easier time defending that we didnt try, than explaining why we failed.

Free EFT Tapping Script For Making Plans Easily

EFT for getting courage to make plans. Making plans and sticking to them is an important component of long term success. However, many people prefer to “let the universe surprise them”, or rely on the law of attraction. The universe doesn’t know what you want if you don’t have a long term plan. As a matter of fact, the Universe might perceive your resistance to making plans as a statement that you don’t want any long term success. Your actions create reactions. So if you want to be abundant and free of worries, you are much better off making concrete plans. I know from experience how challenging this is for many people. And it is a very tappable issue. So I recommend using some EFT. Please follow along, if you feel drawn to this.

KP: Even though I have this deep resistance to making long term plans, I deeply and completely accept myself.

KP: Even though I feel so out of my comfort zone, if I have to put my goals into a calendar, I respect and honor these feelings without judgment.

KP: Even though it is so hard for me to overcome this resistance, I love and accept myself and I am open to seeing this differently when my time has come to be successful.

TH: I have this huge resistance to making plans.

IE: I feel it in every cell of my body

OE: I feel it in my heart, my stomach, my throat and my head

UE: I feel it everywhere, no matter what I am trying to achieve

UN: This huge resistance, this fear, this overwhelm

UL: I feel it and I can’t get past it

CB: Every time I try I get distracted

UA: And it feels so much better to just do something else instead

TH: I have all this resistance inside of me, and I don’t know how to let it go.

Take a deep breath… just sit with these thoughts for a moment.

TH: What if making plans felt surprisingly easy to me?

IE: What if all of a sudden, I realized that I can do it, and that it is natural and comfortable?

OE: What if I began to shift my fears into excitement and spontaneous creativity

UE: What if I found excitement and great joy in getting started and creating all these exciting plans

UN: And then surprised myself with how easy the next step is to putting my goals into my calendar

UL: I would love to find this exciting and confirming

CB: I would love to feel the sense of positive expectation and preparedness whenever I look at my calendar

UA: I am willing to just try it and see what happens

TH: If I am able to see how easy my life could become if I didn’t have to wait for the next step, but could prepare for it long term.

Take another deep breath….Do you resonate with these thoughts and feelings?

TH: I am grateful that I am beginning to see planning as a fun solution

IE: I a excited that my creativity and sponsaneity now have an outlet and support

OE: I am thrilled how easy it gets to actually do what I want to do

UE: Because now it’s in the calendar and I can plan for it in a positive and constructive way

UN: I finally have time to focus on my next steps I life

UL: I finally have freedom and focus to allow myself to use the time that I need

CB: Because since I have planned for what I have chosen to achieve this year,

UA: I finally have the freedom to work on it without distraction.

TH: And even though making long term plans is still strange and new to me, I am now embracing the concept wholeheartedly and without resistance. I can’t wait to accomplish my goals and have time to play when I am done. Thank you.

Sit back, take a breath and feel into the reality of these thoughts. Do you notice a shift? A sense of beginning excitement?

Making plans just means taking your dreams seriously. It means honoring and acknowledging that you can indeed achieve what you want, even if you don’t know how you are going to do it yet.

Making plans and putting them in the calendar is a selfrespecting thing to do. You will enjoy your coming year, when you make plans.

Plan for miracles, and get ready to expect them to happen by preparing very well for that moment.

Your future will thank you!

Marketing Your Healing Practice – How Much Technology Do You Really Need?

When it comes to marketing your healing or coaching practice, using the internet can be very overwhelming.

Most transformational entrepreneurs don’t have enough technological background to understand how internet marketing actually works.

So they spend hours after hours trying to figure out their blog or website, finding the button to upload a picture, and the word “Autoresponder” leaves them shrug their shoulders.

I have certainly been there. More than two years ago, I felt that I just can’t be successful in my coaching practice until I have all this figured out.

So I took charge, and started to travel the country to learn from the best.

I did a number of programs, live workshops, tele classes and a mastermind program with Connie Ragen Green and Jeanette Cates, who is famous for her “tech tamer” programs. I joined Armand Morin’s AM2 Mastermind program, went to big Seminar and many other live events. I went to unseminar with PAt O’Bryan and learned from some of the forerunners in internet marketing and online business. I have attended many more workshops and purchased lots of outstanding programs to help me get through the hurdles of feeling comfortable and knowledgable online.

I am very grateful for the continued support I am receiving and all the learning that I am able to do.

However, for my coaching clients, I highly recommend to not invest so much in the beginning.

A transformational entrepreneur who is still working on reaching the 6 figure mark is usually very well served with the following:

A wordpress blog

An autoresponder/newsletter program

A freebie to get people to optin

A presence on Facebook, twitter and linkedin.

It is very important that you are able to gather your site’s visitor’s email addresses, so that you can serve them in your newsletters and build a good relationship.

Relationship marketing is everything in this economy, where people are very mindful about who they spend their money with and who they trust enough to take advise and coaching from.

Nobody would sign up for an expensive program with you until you have proven your skill level, have established a relationship that makes your visitors feel that they know, like and trust you.

Yes, there is a lot of information out there about all the wonderful things you can do online, and if you have the time to learn, and it truly fascinates you, there is nothing wrong in learning more about what is possible.

But it can also sidetrack you from making those personal phone calls, meeting potential clients in person and always think about the package that you have to offer to help others in their life or business.

Nothing is more important than those personal connections. So please make sure that you don’t overdo your focus on the internet, and leave the house to meet people instead.

For everything you don’t know how to do, just get a webmaster. These are people who are skilled and trained to solve your online problem in minutes, where it would take you hours to even find out how to learn what needs to be done.

Having a professional looking blog, a free giveaway with an optin box, an auto responder service and a presence on Facebook, twitter and linkedin is truly enough to support you in growing your business as a transformational entrepreneur.

Time Management Tips – How To Learn New Technology Without Overwhelm

Time ManagementTime Management is one of the topics that most of my coaching clients struggle with.

For transformational entrepreneurs, there is always more to learn. We often don’t have brick and mortar storefronts or offices, so the internet becomes our “home” the place where we attract clients, where we talk about what we are passionate about and what we have to offer.

The Internet changes very quickly, and ignoring the possibilities online for business growth and marketing is simply not an option.

But how much do we need to learn? And when do we learn it?

Well, the good news is that we don’t have to know everything. We just have to know enough to understand the importance of it and how it can be helpful in our marketing plan.

Yes, I do recommend that you write your own blog, auto responders and newsletters. This is your immediate connection and communication with those who you care about, and your clients and followers deserve to get to know you and not your ghost writer, no matter how good he or she may be.

A simple time management tip that can change your life 🙂

Get your calendar out. I recommend one of those huge table top paper calendars that you would usually have under your computer on your desk, and stick it on the wall.

This way, you see in big letters what the plan for the week and month is.

And then block out a designated time each day that is only for learning and studying.

In the beginning of your business, you will not have that many clients.

So you can easily afford to spend 60-90 minutes per day learning about one topic that you don’t know enough about.

How about you make one full week your blogging week?

Monday: Learn how to setup and install a wordpress blog

Tuesday: Learn what widgets and plugins are and how to use them and which ones are recommended to get started

Wednesday: Learn how to Install your calendar and your contact form and find that perfect theme

Thursday: Learn how to google your keywords with the google adwords keyword tool: https://adwords.google.com.

Thursday: Learn how to write and post blog pages (If you have extra time that day, try it out and actually put your “about”, your “disclaimers” and your “services” page online.)

Friday: Learn how to put up a post (very similar to putting up a page) and (if you have extra time that day) actually post something.

By the end of the week, you have a working blog 🙂

If you really don’t know how to do something, or you don’t want to learn al the tech stuff, that’s perfectly OK.

Maybe you want to spend your 60 minutes on finding a webmaster or Virtual Assistant (VA).

If we plan ahead for the learning that you have to do, we will have a much easier time breaking it down into manageable pieces and taking it one effective step at a time. We actually get it done.

The final piece: When the time for learning and studying is up, it’s OK to pat yourself on the shoulder for doing such a good job, and turn our attention to a different topic.

Transformational Entrepreneurs don’t build all of their business online.

You have to have time for phone calls, events, speaking gigs and more. And you have to have time to embrace your life and your family, your charity and your hobby.

So when your time of learning is done, take a break from the computer and reach out to others.

Makes sense?

Good Luck!

Successful Networking – How To Attract Clients And Grow Your Business Through Live Events

Successful networking is key to getting a solid, enthusiastic client base.

It is so much easier to connect with potential clients who would benefit from working with us at life events and in personal groups than through social media or online listings. Meeting potential clients face to face, having the time to shake their hand, make a personal connection and establish a relationship is invaluable.

I know that as transformational entrepreneurs, the word “sales” is often a trigger. Many people feel that they should “attract” clients without having to sell or market.

But in truth, if you want to be successful, it would help to be willing to expand this view. Your intention determines your experience, and if you go to an event with the intention not to sell or market, but just to meet likeminded people and see what happens, then the people who are actively looking for help will have a hard time finding you. If you are out there with the intention to attract clients, then your potential clients can find you easily. Does this resonate with you?

You might want to consider releasing your resistance to getting the word that you are trying to attract clients out there, with EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques Tapping. There are free Tapping charts on this blog. Please feel fee to explore!

What not to do on networking events:

However, there is a huge pitfall that I warn all my business clients of, and I want to share this with you:

When you attend networking meetings, the common belief is that you go to get referrals.

Networking for referrals is a strategy that works well for companies who have well known, established services to offer.

Auto Mechanics, CPAs or Real Estate Agents would be some good examples.

However, for transformational entrepreneurs, coaches and healing professionals, this strategy usually doesn’t pay of at all.

Here is why:

There are two “hats” that you can wear when you join a networking meeting: Your “sales hat” and your “marketing hat”.

You can’t wear both – you have to decide so you attract the right people to talk to.

Three reasons why referral marketing is the wrong strategy for networking events:

1. In your business as a transformational entrepreneur, you will have a very hard time finding people who are willing to refer you and your specific technique, unless they have experienced your gifts and talents as a client first.

When you go to networking meetings, and talk about what you do to people who don’t understand, you will spend the evening “selling” that your technique works, scrambling to get people to believe you.

So you are not selling your services, you are selling the validity of your techniques or modalities.

At the end of the day, you will have some great conversations that lead themselves to friendships and more interest (hopefully), but no new paying clients.

2. In addition, you will have to try to “sell” people into “selling” your services to people they know (=leads).

But they still don’t know what exactly you stand for, so why would they put their reputation out on the line and risk the relationship with the clients they referred?

Business people don’t do that.

3. When you wear your marketing hat to get referrals, instead of your sales hat, what you are actually doing is trying to avoid having to sell your services yourself. Maybe you don’t like selling, so you establish good relationships with people who know people, hoping that they will step in and become free sales people for you.

Why would they want to do that?

They don’t own your business, they don’t really understand your business, so everything they could do to help you is on the level of doing you a favor (a few exceptions might be there, but this is the general situation in our field).

Remember that “transformational entrepreneur” doesn’t really mean much to most people in the business world, and they would not go out into their client base and refer people to you, unless they feel that they are truly knowledgable and have experienced results with you that they want to communicate.

Makes sense?

Successful Networking to get clients:

So what should you do instead?

Instead, whenever you go to a networking meeting, join a club or talk to people who might relate to and be interested in your work, wear your “sales hat”.

Try to see everybody in the room as a potential client.

Don’t worry about referrals, worry about finding people who would like to work with you 1:1. Even if you meet very influential people, try to see them as clients.

The more influential they are, the lesser the chances that they stand up for you and refer their friends and family to you, after just having spoken briefly in a networking meeting. You are not asking for favors, you are asking for business, remember?

Your best referrals will come from raving fans, people who have experienced first hand what you are escapable of.

In my experience, whenever I go to a group or meeting, I meet several people who would greatly benefit from working with me.

I don’t look for people who will refer me to someone they know, I look for people who personally need my help.

This is a much faster way to grow your business through networking events than looking for referrals.

I hope this helps your business success!

Do you feel like you just can’t do it, it’s too much?

And do you feel stuck and lose hope as a result?

Just take a breath for a moment.
Relax.
Let’s tap on this feeling.
You can only build your business one step at a time, and it is more important to focus on something that you can actually finish, than to start different projects all at once.

Finish your very next step, and then make a new decision.
